Job summary

GOTAFE is seeking motivated students for a hands-on surveying and geomatics role in Orlando. You will gain experience across Design Survey, ROW Mapping, LiDAR, and GIS while participating in project research and calculations. You will draft with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and TopoDOT and learn essential field safety practices.

The role includes operating GNSS, LiDAR scanners, and Total Stations, with 16 hours per week minimum, focusing on field-to-finish processing and notes reduction.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented team player who contributes to a positive work environment
• Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history
• Minimum availability of 16 hours per week on a flexible schedule

Responsibilities

Your Role

• Gaining practical experience in various surveying and geomatics areas including Design Survey, Right of Way Mapping, Sub-Surface Utilities, Mobile/UAV-Aerial LiDAR, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• Participating in project research and survey calculations
• Drafting using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and TopoDOT
• Learning field safety protocols
• Operating GNSS Receivers, Digital Levels, LiDAR scanners, and Total Stations
• Performing field notes reduction and field-to-finish processing
