Position Details

Job Type: Full-time. Location: Baton Rouge Office – Baton Rouge, LA 70808 US. Category: Survey. FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt. Travel: 90%.

Job Description

As an Survey Instrument Operator, you report to the Survey Lead and will work under the supervision of a licensed Surveyor or Crew Chief. You will clean, calibrate, and operate all survey equipment. You will support office and field staff by managing equipment and supplies, and by reporting supply levels to the Chief of Parties/Crew Manager. You will be a champion of the company’s core values while maintaining client satisfaction. The ideal candidate loves teamwork, the outdoors, and is eager to learn and grow their career.

Activities & Responsibilities
  • Assist a surveying or construction crew in assessing the topography and geography of a building site or parcel of land.
  • Calibrate and operate a variety of specialized surveying equipment, such as Robotic Total Stations, GPS, and other miscellaneous survey tools.
  • Collect data and report back to builders, contractors, or survey leaders.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor with all staff and clients.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly work outside in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, wet, and muddy conditions, and high/precarious places.
  • Travel frequently and work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
  • Lift equipment or objects weighing 50 to 75 pounds.
