Job summary

SGM seeks a Survey Field Technician in Durango, CO with at least 2 years of surveying experience to join our field teams. This is an in-person role based in Durango or other CO offices, requiring regular office attendance.

Salary ranges from $28.40 to $45.40 per hour, with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k match, parental leave, vacation and holidays. Equal opportunity employer.

Survey Field Technician

Durango, Durango, CO, US

Salary Range: $28.40 To $45.40 Hourly

SGM is seeking a Survey Field Technician with a minimum of 2 years' experience to join our Survey Teams in our Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, Durango, Meeker, or Gunnison, CO office. This position is primarily in-person and based at one of our office locations. Regular in-office attendance is required and is not considered a remote role. The Survey Team specializes in a variety of Surveys such as: ALTA's, LSP's, Topographic Surveys, Subdivision Plats, Improvement Survey Plats, Property and Easement Descriptions, and Exhibits, for both public and private sector clients. Our ideal candidate will have a strong desire to live, work, and play in Western Colorado and want to be part of a high-performing team that will help forward SGM’s mission to make its clients successful by delivering innovative, practical solutions.

Pay is based on experience:

Survey Technician I or II (2-5 yrs): $28.40 - $39.75/hr.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 2 years of Survey experience.
• Valid Driver's License w/ ability to pass Motor Vehicle Record check
• Physically capable of performing typical land surveying tasks including the ability to carry 50+ lbs. of survey gear through mountainous terrain
• Ability to work independently or as part of a crew
• Motivated problem solver
• Proven ability to work as part of a team to successfully deliver projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; good communication skills
• Ability to work long hours when needed with occasional out of town travel
• Working knowledge of Microsoft

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Trimble software and hardware experience
• Basic understanding of coordinate systems
