Job summary

Quality Engineering & Surveying, LLC is seeking a Survey Crew Member to support field operations by setting up equipment, carrying materials, and performing physical tasks for boundary, topographic, construction staking, and as-built surveys. You will work under the Survey Party Chief and provide hands-on field support.

Ideal candidates have a strong work ethic, good communication, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

  • Education level preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in land surveying or outdoor labor is helpful.
  • Physical ability to lift 5–50 pounds daily and work outdoors.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setting up, moving, and breaking down survey equipment and supplies.
  • Hold and operate survey rods, range poles, and other measuring tools as directed.
  • Clear brush, stakes, and debris along survey lines and around survey points.
  • Help mark, stake, and place monuments and other survey control points.
  • Carry equipment and materials across various terrains and job sites.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and vehicles and ensure safe working order.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the Survey Party Chief and crew members to support efficient field operations.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with insurable driving record.

Scope of Position

The Survey Crew Member supports field operations by setting up equipment, carrying materials, and performing physical tasks necessary to complete boundary, topographic, construction staking, and as-built surveys. The Survey Crew Member works under the supervision of the Survey Party Chief and provides valuable hands on support in the field.

Physical Requirements

Normal working conditions include sitting, standing, and kneeling. Work is conducted in an outdoor environment with exposure to natural weather conditions (within safety guidelines). Ability to travel to job sites (daily) and office locations is required.

Light to heavy lifting (5-50 pounds) may be required daily.

Qualifications
