Job summary

Synerfac Technical Staffing is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to support a civil engineering practice. This predominantly field-based role (about 90%) covers boundary, topo, ALTA, construction layout, and transportation projects.

You will lead field operations and ensure data quality while coordinating with project managers. The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of hands-on surveying experience, a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency with GPS data collection and

Job description

We are hiring an experienced Survey Crew Chief to support a growing civil engineering practice in. This is a predominantly field‑based role (approximately 90%) supporting a wide range of surveying projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction layout, and transportation work.

Responsibilities

• Lead field survey operations for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction layout, and transportation projects
• Operate GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
• Perform survey calculations and ensure data accuracy
• Review and download field data daily for office processing
• Coordinate with survey project managers to plan field work efficiently
• Communicate field conditions, progress, and issues clearly to internal teams

Job Requirements

• 3-5+ years of hands‑on field surveying experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a survey crew member
• Proficiency with GPS data collection and field‑to‑finish workflows
• Valid driver"s license
• Must be able to work Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm

Preferences

• Field experience as a Survey Crew Chief or Party Chief
• Experience with AutoCAD, Carlson, and/or Civil 3D
• Experience processing field data, setting up stakeouts, and supporting office survey workflows
