Job summary

Allan Myers is seeking a motivated Survey CAD Technician to support survey operations and construction projects across the organization. You will learn survey and CAD processes while working with experienced professionals, developing technical skills, and managing multiple priorities with accuracy and safety.

The role involves assisting with survey file preparation, data processing, and equipment setup, using Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, CAD, Geomatics, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Industry internship, co-op, or coursework in surveying, CAD, or surveying tech is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble software or similar applications preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and maintaining survey files, drawings, and data for construction and survey projects.
• Support survey crews and office staff with roadway, utility, topographic, boundary, and as-built surveys.
• Review project files for accuracy and completeness prior to field use.
• Assist with basic survey calculations, data processing, and record management.
• Support setup and maintenance of GPS and survey equipment under guidance of senior team members.
• Learn and utilize Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Process and organize survey data collected from field crews.
• Assist with maintaining project documentation and survey records.
• Ensure survey equipment is maintained, calibrated, and ready for use.
• Adhere to safety policies and promote a safe working environment.
• Communicate effectively with field and office personnel to support project needs.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license required.
