Job summary

The Planet Group and a Nashville client seek a Survey CAD Technician to convert field survey data into accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings and maps for engineering and construction projects in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ideal candidates hold an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying with CST Level I/II, 3+ years of surveying experience, and strong AutoCAD Civil 3D (2020–2024) and Carlson Software skills.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying and CST Level I/II preferred.
• 3+ years surveying experience in delivering survey-related deliverables and project management.
• Proficient in AutoCAD with Civil 3D (v.2020–2024) and Carlson Software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify 2D and 3D CAD drawings for survey projects using Civil 3D and GIS tools.
• Process field data from surveys, construction reports, and engineering drawings to create maps, plats, and technical documents.
• Perform survey calculations, layout computations, and analyze deeds or research materials to support deliverables.
• Coordinate with engineers, drafters, and field crews to ensure data is captured and integrated into plans.
• Maintain organized project files and CAD standards/workflows.

Job description

We are partnering with our client to find a Survey CAD Technician in Nashville, Tennessee, who will convert field survey data into accurate technical drawings and maps, supporting engineering and construction projects.

Required:

• Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying - CST Level I or II (Office) certification preferred.
• 3+years of Surveying experience in preparing survey-related deliverables and project management in Construction, Boundaries, and Topographic Surveys.
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, with Autodesk Civil 3D (v. 2020-2024) and Carlson Software.
• Proficient in use of Microstation and OpenRoads is a plus.
• Must have boundary and right of way resolution experience.
• Knowledge of surveying practices and procedures (Field & Office).
• Ability to read and interpret plats deeds, easements and plans.
• Must be able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
