Job summary

Fenstermaker in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Survey 360 Technician to operate equipment used for underwater acoustic projects, high-definition laser scanning surveys, dimensional control surveys, and aerial drone surveys. The technician will lead field crews, load project equipment, manage robotic total stations and navigation systems, capture scans, and process data according to project scope.

Job Description

The Survey 360 Technician will operate equipment that is used for underwater acoustic projects, high-definition laser scanning surveys, dimensional control surveys, and aerial drone surveys. The Survey 360 Technician will be a champion and leader of our company core values while maintaining internal and external customer engagement and satisfaction.

Some responsibilities include:

• Leading a crew for hydrographic and laser scanning projects
• Loading project required equipment into automobile and/or boat prior to traveling to the job site
• Operating robotic total stations, associated navigation, positioning and heading-motion reference unit systems
• Scanning field capture and processing scan data as outlined per the project scope
• Completing assigned tasks in a timely fashion and being diligent in field procedures

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Minimum three (3) years of related experience in land surveying and/or hydrographic surveying
• Proficient understanding of geometry and trigonometry
• Ability to travel; may require frequent travel and some overnight stays to customer sites
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
