State of Indiana’s Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) is hiring a Surveillance Program Manager in Indianapolis to lead the Lead and Healthy Homes Division. In this role, the Surveillance Program Manager works for the Lead and Healthy Homes Division, supporting the agency’s efforts to protect families and children from lead poisoning. This role supervises a team of 7 individuals who help ensure that blood lead tests are done, responded to, and referred as appropriate. The incumbent will serve as a leader for a team of surveillance staff who help ensure that physicians and local health departments are successful in conducting lead testing, reporting lead results to IDOH, and providing case management to families of lead poisoned children. This position requires the ability to multitask and re-prioritize quickly, regularly switching between problem solving around local issues and grant management. Work is primarily performed at IDOH’s main office in Indianapolis but does require day travel up to 1-2 times per month across the state.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
