Job summary

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Spay/Neuter Surgery Veterinary Technician I. This full-time role supports veterinarians and the surgery team, crossing departments as needed, and upholds Fear Free handling practices.

You will assist in anesthesia, prepare instruments, monitor patients, and help with lab work and patient housing. The position requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced animal care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as veterinary technician/assistance/nurse.
• Surgery department and anesthesia experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures.
• Readiness to work in a fast-paced animal care setting.

Responsibilities

• Induce and prepare patients for procedures; monitor under anesthesia.
• Intubate and extubate patients; prepare anesthetic drugs.
• Operate in-house lab; perform urinalysis, fecal analysis and cytology.
• Maintain instrument sterilization and assist surgical team.
• Support and follow direction of surgery flow and care standards.
