Job summary

Premier Veterinary Group Chicago is seeking a Veterinary Technician, Surgery/Anesthesia to join our emergency and specialty team. This full-time, first-shift role supports the Surgery department with exams, anesthesia planning, monitoring, and recovery, collaborating with surgeons and anesthesiologists to provide high-quality care.

Ideal candidates hold current CVT/LVT/RVT credentials, have at least two years of anesthesia experience in a surgical setting, and excel in client communication,

Qualifications

• Current CVT, LVT, or RVT credentialing is required.
• At least two years of veterinary anesthesia experience, preferably in emergency, specialty, or surgical settings.
• Strong knowledge of anesthetic protocols, monitoring, pain management, and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Support the Surgery department by coordinating and running patient appointments and preparing patients for procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists during consultations, admissions, and discharges with client education.
• Induce, maintain, and monitor anesthesia for soft tissue, orthopedic, and advanced procedures.
• Maintain accurate anesthesia records, documentation, and patient status throughout the perioperative period.
• Assist with sterile technique, equipment readiness, and post-anesthetic recovery.
