HS and Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs ( CAAHEP ) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools ( ABHES ) accredited program of surgical technology
No experience required.
Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs ( CAAHEP ) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools ( ABHES ) accredited program of surgical technology; or Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN ) with at least 10 years in a Surgical Technician/Technologist role; or completion of a Surgical Technologist Certificate program and certified through American Allied Health ( AAH ), National Healthcare Workers Association ( NHWA ), or National Center for Competency Testing ( NCCT ); or certified as a surgical technologist or surgical technologist first assistant by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting ( NBSTSA ); or graduate of a military training program (validated with a DD214 or graduation certificate); or UKHC employee who is already in a Surgical Technician/Technologist role as of 09/17/2016
4 × 10 hr shifts per week as assigned with some on-call and weekend requirements
This title offers a Talent Attraction bonus for New Grads of $6,000 with an 12-month commitment or $12,000 with a 24-month commitment.( GSH and Chandler locations only), Additional details will be provided during the hiring process.
This title offers a Talent Attraction bonus for Surgical Techs with 12 months or greater experience, up to $15,000 with an 18-month commitment ( GSH or Chandler locations only); or $20,000 with a 18-month commitment ( CVOR Specialty Only). Additional details will be provided during the hiring process.
The primary responsibilities for these positions include: Pass surgical instruments in operating room. Maintain strict sterile field, assist/perform surgical case counts. Obtains necessary supplies/instruments for such cases and checks for completeness and working order. Opens room independently or in conjunction with the circulating nurse (depending on case complexity). Sets up and maintains sterile field until the patient exits the room. Maintains a neat and orderly sterile field during each case. Passes instruments to surgeons, anticipating needs. Monitors for breaks in sterile technique and takes corrective action when identified. Performs counts in accordance with policy.
