Job summary

Proliance Surgeons is seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist to provide hands-on support to the surgeon and operating room team in the ASC, handling instruments, supplies and equipment before, during and after surgery.

The role demands graduation from an accredited surgical technology program, current state licensure and CPR, and preferably certification as a Surgical Technologist. Two years of direct experience are desired, with a commitment to patient safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeon and OR team with instruments, supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain sterile field and ensure equipment is functioning properly.

  • Monitor supplies and assist with inventory control and usage tracking.
  • Participate in continuing education to meet state requirements.
  • Represent the center with professionalism in all interactions.

Job description

Position Summary

The Surgical Technologist in the ASC provides technical hands‑on support to the surgeon and operating room team by handling instruments, supplies and equipment before, during and after surgery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgical experience.
  • Maintain a friendly, positive, and caring attitude with all patients, physicians and staff.
  • Properly handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon based on requests and patterns.
  • Constantly monitoring for maintenance of the sterile field.
  • Assist in assuring that the proper supplies, instruments, and equipment are available for the procedure.
  • Assist in assuring that equipment is functioning properly.
  • Monitor use of all supplies. Assist with inventory control by proper count of supplies/time used.
  • Continuing education to meet State requirements and keep current with health care changes.
  • Display professionalism at work and in the community as a representative of the Center.
  • Take an active role on committees within the department.
  • Identifies actual and potential risk to patients and others and takes action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety.
Education/Experience
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program
  • Certified Surgical Technologist preferred
  • Current State licensure and CPR
  • Two years of direct experience is desired
