Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, based at 37700 Davie Medical Center - Administration: Surgery, is seeking a Surgical Technician for a full-time, 40-hour work week. The role involves preparing and stocking operating room instruments and supplies, maintaining aseptic techniques, and supporting the RN and multidisciplinary team throughout procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Renders care under the direction of the RN including assisting with direct patient care activities.
  • Prepares and stocks the Operating Room before and after surgery; gathers sterile supplies.
  • Maintains aseptic technique and ensures instrument fields are complete and ready for use.
  • Communicates effectively with the team, patients and co-workers in a professional manner.

Monday - Friday , four 10-hr shifts, 0630-1700

Pay Range

$25.30 - $37.95

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduation from a Surgical Technology program.
  • LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required. Certification in specialty area preferred.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN. 2. Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies. 3. Communicates to the team, co-workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co-workers, and patients. 4. Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development. 5. Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory.
