Job summary

University Hospitals St. John Medical Center OR Team is seeking dedicated Surgical Technology professionals to join our team in Ohio.

The position offers a $5k sign-on bonus for external candidates with 1+ years of experience and a $2,500 sign-on bonus for new grad techs, along with competitive salary, benefits, PTO, flexible schedules and retirement plans. The Surgical Technologist will maintain sterile conditions, anticipate the needs of the surgical team, and ensure instruments and supplies

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient age-specific nursing care to patients/families.
• Provide patient care in a primary scrub position.
• Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures.
• Ensure instruments and supplies are present and in proper working condition.
• Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field.
• Support the operative team and follow patient care hand-off protocol.
• Actively participate in the quality improvement process.
• Involved in learning and self-improvement.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Refer to department documentation during orientation.
• Maintain PHI security and complete annual training as required.

A Brief Overview

The Surgical Technologist maintains sterile conditions, anticipates the needs of the surgical team, and ensures that all instruments and supplies are available and properly handled. The first level in the Surgical Technologist career ladder.

What You Will Do

• Provide safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.


• Provide patient care/function in a primary scrub position.


• Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures.


• Assure appropriate instruments/supplies are present and in proper working condition.


• Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field.


• Support the operative team, includes following patient care hand off protocol.
