Job summary

Zohorecruit in Sitka, AK is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support operating room teams on the day shift, Tuesday through Friday, 10 hours per day with on-call requirements. This position entails standing-by for emergencies and ensuring sterile equipment readiness.

You will scrub in for a wide range of surgeries under nurse supervision, anticipate instrument needs, set up sterile tables, and maintain sterility while supporting patient care. On-call duties may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a technologist training program accredited by CAHHEP or equivalent.
• Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• 1 year experience required.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs in on surgical procedures, under professional nurse supervision, for many different advanced and complex types of surgeries.
• Anticipates the surgeon’s preference for certain materials or instruments and responds to these preferences; updates nurse as necessary based on ongoing assessment of equipment needs and physician preferences.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, equipment, supplies and medications/solutions needed for surgical procedures.
• Takes apart and reassembles any instrument or piece of equipment that needs cleaning and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Monitors supplies and instruments to assure sterility of materials used furthering Quality Assurance of patient care.
• Inventories, monitors assigned services supplies and orders as needed.
