Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures under supervision.
• Ensure OR rooms, supplies and equipment are prepared.
• Verify sterile technique and maintain sterile field.
• Assist with draping, positioning, counts and specimen handling.
• Maintain equipment readiness and patient safety throughout procedures.
• Follow medication handling procedures on the surgical field.
• Assist with terminal cleaning and room turnover.
