Job summary

Rock Health in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist in the operating room, supporting surgeons and nurses with instrumentation and sterile technique.

You will prepare the OR, assist as scrub and circulator, manage implants and equipment, and help orient new staff. Completion of an accredited surgical tech program is required; CST certification and 1–3 years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program is required.
• Preferred CST certification with 1–3 years of experience.
• Ability to work in a team, communicate clearly, and maintain confidentiality.
• Visual acuity and physical capability to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by organizing equipment and instruments for scheduled and emergency procedures.
• Assist surgeons as a scrub person, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments efficiently.
• Support circulating nurses by accounting for all surgical tools and supplies.
• Operate and maintain OR machinery, including lasers, scopes, and sterilization equipment.
• Verify and handle implants and surgical materials.
• Participate in training and orienting new staff and students.
• Transport patients to the OR and perform sterilization and decontamination per infection control standards.
• Utilize electronic tools for instrument tracking and sterilization processes.
