Job summary

Qualifications

• NBSTA-accredited Surgical Technology degree or NCCT certification required.
• Four years' experience as a Surgical Technologist with a high school diploma accepted.
• Military or on-the-job surgical tech training with HS diploma accepted.

Responsibilities

• Label and handle patient specimens.
• Perform Surgical Technologist skills within unit scope of practice.
• Maintain a clean, safe OR environment.
• Respond to delegation; do not perform outside scope.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies.
• Demonstrate infection control practices.
• Assist nurse/physician with procedures.
• Prepare OR table and scrubs; provide instruments and supplies.
• Operate specialized OR equipment as needed.
• Assist with preoperative and postoperative care.
