Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care during surgical procedures by selecting, setting up and passing sterile instruments to the surgeon and assistants under RN/surgeon direction.
• Label and handle patient specimens; maintain aseptic technique and infection control.
• Prepare OR table and scrubs; provide instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery.
• Support preoperative and postoperative care as directed by RN; assist with patient transport as needed.

Education

Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or NCCT Certification

Four years of experience as a Surgical Technologist with HS Diploma

Four years applicable on-the-job or military Surgical Technology training with HS Diploma
