Job summary

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - San Marcos is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing the operating room and caring for pre-operative patients. The role includes scrubbing multiple specialty areas, maintaining aseptic technique, and transporting patients to the OR.

Must work under supervision and support the surgical team. Educational requirements include a Surgical Technology program or LVN/LPN program; BLS certification is required and certification as a Surgical Technologist

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program required.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies as a leader.
• Under the direction of a professional nurse, performs direct patient care and assistance in the OR before and during surgeries.
• Maintains sterile field, passes instruments, and assists the physician as directed.
