The successful candidate will be certified as a Surgical Technologist, have a high school diploma or GED, and prefer one year of relevant medical experience. Full-time/part-time hours, local travel none.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist credential required.
• High School Diploma or GED; CNA or LPN preferred.
• One year of work in the medical field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and issues central sterile supplies and equipment used in OR and other departments requiring sterile supplies.
• Received, breaks down, sorts, inventories, cleans, and examines surgical instruments for proper serviceability.
• Properly prepares instruments for sterilization using sterilization principles
• Assembles and wraps surgical instruments and other supplies and equipment for sterilization
• Loads and operates sterilization equipment using best practice policy and procedures
• Cleans and disinfects all equipment according to department procedures
• Conducts tests pertinent to CS such as spore tests and Bowie Dick Tests
• Follows collection, processing, and distribution procedures according to policy (rounds)
• Orders necessary supplies for the department weekly
• Performs preventative maintenance procedures on rental equipment according to department procedures
• Utilizes personal protective barriers and equipment; performs universal precautions
• Performs other duties as assigned
