Qualifications

• Graduated from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program and obtain certification within 12 months of graduation.
• Graduated from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Qualify under the Grandfathering Clause or Hard-to-Fill Clause with relevant experience and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a minimum of 15 Continuing Medical Education hours annually.
• Prepare and check instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Set up and maintain a sterile field using aseptic techniques.
• Assist with patient draping and ensure proper attire for the surgical team.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
• Perform sponge and sharp counts with the circulating nurse.
• Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization.
• Support specialty surgical services and stock OR rooms as needed.
• Prepare sterile dressings and assist with post-operative care.
• Help orient new staff and contribute to unit goals.
