Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Mishawaka Medical Center Operating Room. This part-time position involves helping prepare sterile fields, passing instruments, and ensuring procedures run smoothly in a fast-paced OR.

The role requires formal Surgical Technologist training, NBSTA certification within 1 year, CPR (within 60 days), and a high school diploma; 2 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Formal training as a Surgical Technologist.
  • NBSTA Certification must be obtained within 1 year of completion of program.
  • High School Diploma
  • CPR certification or able to obtain within 60 days
  • 2 years of surgical tech experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain sterile fields for surgery.
  • Pass instruments, anticipate surgeon needs, and handle specimens.
  • Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
  • Clean OR post-procedure and prepare tools for sterilization

Education

Formal training as a Surgical Technologist
NBSTA Certification (within 1 year)
High School Diploma
