Job summary

100 Lawrence Memorial Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our team in Rochester, NY. This role involves promoting our mission and delivering optimal patient services while adhering to hospital policies.

The ideal candidate will have experience from a surgical technologist program or equivalent scrub technician background, along with a strong focus on teamwork and accountability. Flexibility in scheduling is also required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program, or 5 years of scrub technician experience.
• BLS Certification is preferred.
• Recent six to twelve months of Surgical Technologist experience in the Operating Room.

Job description

Schedule: M-F 5 x 8 hr shifts with minimal call.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the vision, mission and PI philosophy of LMH.
• Utilizes effective interpersonal skills to promote teamwork, collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to deliver optimal patient services.
• Performs skills from skills checklist accurately.
• Participates in performance improvement activities, initiating improvement through proper channels.
• Respects and demonstrates confidentiality.
• Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates accountability for maintaining and advancing professional competency, meeting educational requirements pertinent to practice.
• Demonstrates flexibility regarding scheduling.
• Adheres to safety policies and procedures and displays knowledge of hospital’s emergency code procedures.
• Participates in staff meetings.
• May participate in QA, PI activities and other hospital committees.
• May participate in communications with the surgical representatives with the various vendors.
• Demonstrates expertise with instrumentation, setting up the case and physician preferences.
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program, or 5 years of scrub technician experience, or hospital surgical technologist experience.
• BLS Certification is preferred.
• Recent six to twelve months of Surgical Technologist experience in the Operating Room.
• Certification in Surgical Technology.
