Job Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Surgical Technologist for the Delivery Room at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank and M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

We’re offering an up to $6,000 sign-on bonus along with a generous relocation bonus up to $5,000! As a Surgical Technologist, you will perform as a scrub person during surgical procedures, delivering patient care services during your shift in collaboration with the RN. You will also help carry out nursing standards, ensure the proper use of supplies/equipment, and maintain the surgical suite under the RN’s guidance.

Schedule: This position is 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks), with 12-hour night shifts, including weekend rotation as needed.

About our Birth Place / Delivery Room at UMMC West Bank:

• We are a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Minnesota, with students, residents, and fellows in the OR daily.
• The Birth Place has 14 Labor and Delivery Rooms and 3 Operating Rooms.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Complete one of the following by hire date: Military Surgical Assistant, LPN (MN licensed) Surgical Assistant, or Surgical Technologist training.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain by hire date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• AST certification or eligible at hire.
• 1-3 years surgical tech experience.

• Knowledge of developmental needs of the patient population.
• Ability to work under stress and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
