Northside Hospital, Inc. in the Atlanta area is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team by organizing instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures. You will assist during turnover and ensure patient safety across multiple service lines, including neonatal to geriatric cases.

This full-time night-shift position (7pm-7am) includes rotating weekend work and collaboration with perioperative staff to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• High school diploma, GED or post-secondary education.
• BLS required for role.
• Color vision screening as required by unit.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program with 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• OR three years of full-time OR experience in last seven years.

Responsabilidades

• Handles instruments, supplies and equipment during procedures.
• Supports patient safety and quality of care with technical tasks for staff during and after procedures.
• Operates across multiple surgical service lines, potentially with neonatal to geriatric patients.

Educación

Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program

Three years OR experience

BLS certification

Color vision screening

NBSTSA CST or NCCT TS-C preferred

Responsibilities

The surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Helps to ensure patient safety and quality of care by performing various tasks and duties that provide technical assistance and support to medical/surgical staff and personnel during and in the turnover of surgical procedures. Specializes in multiple surgical services lines and potentially works with neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• High school diploma, equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education
• Must hold American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Visual color acuity screening depending on the role in specific units.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program and working as a Surgical Technologist with one (1) year of experience.

OR

Three (3) years of full-time employment within the last seven (7) years in an Operating Room setting working as a Surgical Technologist.

PREFERRED

• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Technologist in Surgery- Certified (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
