Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist in New Jersey. The candidate should have a minimum of 2+ years of experience, be proficient in two services (e.g., Neurology, Urology, Ortho), and hold or be eligible for AST certification. Strong communication skills and computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Google Suite) are required.

Certification in BLS/HCP is also required. This role supports patient care across surgical teams and requires adherence to NJ regulations.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Professional certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) unless exempt per the New Jersey Surgical Technology Certification Law in effect since December 21, 2011, by meeting at least one of the following:
  • Holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization (i.e., CST: Certified Surgical Technologist);
  • OR has completed an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (as documented by the Department of Defense Form 2586 (DD-2586) or Form DD-214);
  • OR provides evidence that the person was employed to practice surgical technology in a healthcare facility on the effective date of this act (December 21, 2011).
  • OR in the service of the federal government, performing surgical technology duties related to that service (as documented by the Department of Defense Form 2586 (DD-2586) or Form DD-214).
