Job summary

Baptist Brandon, MS is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team under AST guidelines. Responsibilities include preparing the surgical suite, arranging and inventorying sterile equipment, passing items, and maintaining sterile setup during procedures to ensure patient safety.

Strong English communication is required, with commitment to ongoing education and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of Surgical Technologist experience in an operating room.
• Hold current national certification through an approved accreditation body as required by the state.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Functions under the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) guidelines for performance. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Assists surgical team during operation/procedure by arranging, inventorying and maintaining sterile set up for operation, and passes items as needed. Assists in preparation of surgical suite, moving patients, and in cleaning. Provides aid in exposure, homeostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out safe operation with optimal results for the patient within AST standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
