Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital South, L.L.C. is seeking a Surgical Technologist in a residency-style role at the South Campus Location in Tulsa, OK. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will assist in primary or secondary surgical procedures and help maintain sterile fields.

You will work full-time days, with a 6:30am-7pm schedule on Fri, Sat, Sun, and must hold ABHES/CAAHEP or state accreditation for Surgical Technology, plus NBSTSA or NCCT certification and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP or by the State.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification; CPR certification.
• 0-2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains sterile field, anticipates and provides instrumentation and supplies necessary to perform surgery.
• Facilitates patient flow through case turnover.
• Performs environmental activities to maintain asepsis of operating room.
• Anticipates needs in instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies according to technique procedure, and special requirements.
• Maintains correct sponge, needle, and instrument count with registered nurse and reports discrepancies as policy requires.
• Performs high level disinfection.
• Develops and demonstrates competency in specialty team cases and can serve as a preceptor.
• Demonstrates competencies in multiple specialties.
• Makes changes in surgeon's preference cards per surgeon requests to keep them current.

Job Summary

Under direct supervision of a registered nurse, performs the duties of a primary or secondary surgical technologist in surgical procedures.

Minimum Education

Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program accredited by Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs (CAAHEP) or by the State.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification

Certified through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). CPR certification.

Work Experience

0-2 years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
