Northern Light Health in Ellsworth, ME seeks a Surgical Technologist I to assist in operations under supervision of surgeons and nurses. The role maintains sterile fields, supports equipment inventory, and helps during surgery; patient positioning and safety are essential.

The position is full-time, 40 hours weekly, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus and required High School Diploma/GED. BLS is required; Surgical Technologist certification preferred.

This position is eligible for a $10,000 (minus tax) sign on bonus with work commitment.

Summary

Assists in operations, under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile operative fields.
• Maintains inventory of medical supplies or equipment.
• Assists healthcare practitioners during surgery.
• Positions patients for treatment or examination.
• Protect patients or staff members using safety equipment.
• Maintains a safe environment complying with policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
• May perform other duties upon request.

Other Information

• Surgical Technician Certification preferred.
• BLS Required.
