Job summary

East Columbus Surgery Center, part of United Surgical Partners International (USPI), is seeking a Full Time Surgical Technologist to join our surgical team in Columbus, Ohio. You will scrub for procedures under supervision, prepare and maintain instruments and ensure aseptic techniques are followed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and surgical technician training or two years of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or 2+ years of surgical tech experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions.
• Excellent teamwork and communication with staff, patients, and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs for surgical procedures under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
• Prepares and maintains surgical supplies, instruments and equipment.
• Supports the goals and quality improvement activities of the Surgery Center.
• Participates in ongoing education and training as required.

Surgical Technologist at East Columbus Surgery Center

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or previous surgical technician experience of at least two years preferred
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
