Job summary

A leading nonprofit health system in North Carolina is seeking a Surgical Services Float Pool professional. The position requires quality patient advocacy, effective communication, and management of surgical supplies. Candidates must have completed an accredited surgical technology or nursing program and possess a BCLS certification. Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program or accredited nursing school.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
  • 3 years of experience in surgical technology is strongly preferred.

  • Day Shift - 3 x 12 or 4 x 10 scheduling option
  • No call requirements
  • 2 weekend shifts per 8 week schedule
  • 2 Monday’s & 2 Friday’s per an 8-week schedule
  • 1 major winter holiday & 2 minor holidays per calendar year
  • $5,000 Sign on Bonus Eligible

$24.85 - $37.30

Location: Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Region

Position will require floating within the Wake Region:

  • Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (Winston‑Salem, NC),
  • Davie Medical Center (Bermuda Run, NC),
  • Wilkes Medical Center (North Wilkesboro, NC)
  • High Point Medical Center (High Point, NC)
  • Lexington Medical Center (Lexington, NC)

Education & Certification Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or
  • Accredited school of nursing
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Preferred: Certification in Surgical Technology
  • 3 years of experience strongly preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
  • Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Communicates to the team, co‑workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co‑workers, and patients.
  • Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory.
