Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Charlotte seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our Surgical Services Float Pool, providing support to the Wake region ORs and contributing to patient care in a dynamic Academic Learning Health System.

You will assist with instrument setup, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate with RNs to ensure safe, efficient operations in a fast-paced environment. Eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus if you meet eligibility.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing.
• 3 years of experience strongly preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy under RN supervision.
• Maintains instruments, equipment and supplies with aseptic technique.
• Communicates effectively with the team, co-workers and patients.

The Surgical Technologist renders care to assigned patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) including assisting with direct patient care activities; preparing and stocking the Operating Room before and after surgery; gathering clean and sterile supplies; setting up sterile instrument fields; maintaining and monitoring aseptic techniques.

Job Requirements:

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing
• 3 years of experience strongly preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• Certification in specialty area preferred
