Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program is required.
  • Certification must be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Maintain certification throughout employment.
  • Well-developed written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the organization’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons and residents by selecting, organizing, and passing surgical instruments, supplies and equipment under the surgeon’s direction.
  • Maintain highest aseptic technique during all operative procedures and ensure proper attire, scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and sterile field boundaries.
  • Identify breaches in aseptic technique and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform reprocessing tasks including decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, documentation, and troubleshooting parameter failures as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
