The Surgical Technologist supports perioperative care, maintains sterile fields, assists surgical teams, and ensures safe and effective procedures.The Surgical Technologist* Participates in the delivery of individualized peri-operative registered nursing care under the supervision and guidance of a licensed physician or a registered professional nurse. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to assure quality patient care.* Basic knowledge of instrumentations.* Establish/Maintain sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment.* Demonstrates correct and safe instrumentation passing.* Participants in surgical counts (sponge, needle and instruments), per policy* Adheres to Policy and Procedures, all regulatory standards and Patient Safety Goals.* Participates in the nursing process for patients of all ages served.* Participates in unit educational activities.# **What We Require:****Education:** High school diploma or equivalent required.**Experience:** Must qualify to practice as a Surgical Technologist under Commonwealth of Virginia requirements through an approved training or qualifying pathway.**Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:** Registration with the Commonwealth of Virginia required as applicable under state law.**Other Minimum Qualifications:** Basic knowledge of instrumentation required.
