Job summary

Tenet Massachusetts in Cherry Valley, MA is seeking a Surgical Technologist for an ongoing position in the Operating Room.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a certified surgical technologist preferred

Responsibilities

• Scrubs on surgical cases and assists the surgeon under the supervision of the Registered Nurse circulator
• Selects and prepares the appropriate supplies and equipment for surgical cases
• Sets up and maintains sterile technique and assists in instrument counts and room readiness
• Contributes to patient safety and efficient operating room workflow

Position Summary:

The Operating Room Surgical Technologists work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse circulator to facilitate safe and effective care. Functions in a professional manner on a wide variety of surgical procedures. Selects and prepares the appropriate supplies and equipment for the surgical cases. Scrubs on surgical cases, operates surgical equipment, participates in surgery by organizing the instrumentation, participating in surgical counts, and performs related activities under the direction of the Registered nurse circulator and surgeon.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: :

Required: Graduate of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: :

One year experience working as a certified surgical technologist preferred.

PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), BLS required
