Job summary

FMOL Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist 1 to prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment for procedures. You will support sterile technique and assist the OR team under supervision.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, 1 year OR experience or equivalent, and BLS certification within 6 months. Strong communication and patient safety focus are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical case preparation including instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintain a well-organized sterile setup at all times.
• Assist the circulating RN with patient preparation and procedures.
• Follow proper sterilization methods including autoclaves.
• Accurate instrument, sponge, and sharps counts.
• Support OR staff with room turnovers and after-hours desk duties.

• Anticipates and responds effectively by performing assignments in a timely and efficient manner with no more than 2 documented corrective incidents annually.
• Proper sterile techniques are followed and maintains a sterile field at all times with no more than 2 documented corrective incidents annually.
• Assistance is provided to the circulating RN with procedure/patient preparation with no more than 2 documented corrective incidents annually.
• A working knowledge of autoclaves is followed and proper sterilization method for instruments selected at all times with no more than 2 documented corrective incidents annually.
