Job summary

Atrium Health seeks an Allied Health Professional with surgical technology or nursing training to support perioperative care under RN supervision. This role emphasizes patient safety, instrument management, and professional communication.

Candidates must have graduation from a surgical technology program or an accredited nursing school and BCLS certification; certification in specialty area is preferred. Expect exposure to clinical environments and a fast-paced operating room setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required. Certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
• Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Communicates to the team, co-workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co-workers, and patients.
• Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
• Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory.
