Job summary

HCA Florida West Hospital in Pensacola is hiring a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room and surgical teams. You will prepare the sterile field, assist during surgeries, and help ensure patient safety with close collaboration among nurses, surgeons, and support staff.

Qualifications

• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• At least 6 months of surgical technologist experience or recent graduation from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment for safe procedures.
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping, prioritizing comfort and safety.
• Scrub in and provide instruments, handle specimens, and anticipate needs of the surgical team.
• Monitor patients and equipment during procedures and respond to any concerns.
• Uphold sterile technique, complete room turnover efficiently, and support a collaborative team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
• Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
• Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs
• Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
• Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Must have at least 6 months or surgical technologist experience, or recent graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
