Trinity Health is hiring a Surgical Technologist for full-time day shift in Grand Rapids, MI. The role supports surgeons and residents by preparing instruments, supplies, and retraction under the surgeon’s direction.

The position requires completion of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience, with preferred credentials and strong aseptic technique knowledge. Competitive benefits kick in Day One, with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technologist program; or six years of surgical tech experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist preferred
• Familiarity with standard desktop and windows-based computer system, including email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation.
• Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Applies knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative technique relative to all procedures.
• Applies principles of asepsis and infection prevention.
• Identifies breaches in aseptic technique and implements interventions for resolution.
• Assists with position, prepping and draping of the patient.
• Provides assistance as necessary to surgeons and residents by selecting, organizing, anticipating, and passing surgical instruments, medical supplies, equipment, and provides retraction under the direction of the surgeon.
• Assists with exposure through appropriate use of instruments, retractors, suctioning and sponging.

Position Purpose:
