Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc. (USPI) New Mexico Surgery Center - Orthopaedics is hiring a Surgical Technologist full time. Responsibilities include preparing operating rooms, assembling instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures.

No weekends or on-call requirements with paid holidays. The candidate should have a high school diploma, completion of a scrub technician program, 1–2 years OR experience, and current BLS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Scrub Technician Certification Program required.
• 1–2 years OR experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple OR specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure.
• Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians’ preference cards.
• Inspects equipment for proper working condition.
• Follows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room procedures.
• Adheres to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the procedure.
• Arranges instruments according to given procedure.
• Confirms that instruments work properly.
• Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays.
• Responsible for room turnover/room cleaning to ensure efficient patient flow.
