Job summary

UCI Health, a leading academic health system, seeks a Technical Coordinator to support the Surgery Service Line. Under the Clinical Manager, you will coordinate day-to-day activities, orient new staff, drive performance improvement, manage scheduling, and work with physicians to improve outcomes.

You will precept new employees and ensure clear communication among physicians, nurses, technicians, staff, and patients.

Qualifications

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Experience in acute care settings is preferred.
• Must be able to work with physicians, nurses, and technicians.
• Familiarity with surgical service lines is a plus.

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, will actively assist in coordination of the day-to-day activities in the assigned Service Line. The Coordinator takes a leading role in servicing orienting new staff, performance improvement, scheduling, and working with physicians for improved outcome, and precepts new employees. The Technical Coordinator ensures effective communication with the physicians, circulating nurses, surgical technicians, ancillary staff, and patients to maintain an environment conducive to the patients well-being.

Required Qualifications

• Good Organizational Skills
• Acute Care Experience
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certificate
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in the Service Line
• Surgical Tech Certificate
• Graduate from Accredited Surgical Tech Program
• Completion of Medical Terminology Class or Knowledge of Medical Term
• Computer Knowledge
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
