Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved surgical technologist program.
• Surgical Tech Certification (CST) is mandatory.
• BLS certification is required.
• 1 year of experience as a surgical technologist is preferred.
• Membership in CST association is preferred.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to the Code of Conduct.
• Complies with center policies and procedures.
• Maintains a safe environment for the patient and assists with instrument handling.
• Transports patients as needed and ensures procedure room turnover.
• Performs aseptic techniques and sterilization per policy and procedure.
• Documents appropriately and participates in quality assurance activities.
• Assists in operating room activities and supports the nursing staff.
