Job summary

Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the Operating Room team. The position reports to the RN and surgeon and focuses on maintaining a safe sterile environment and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing ORs, assisting with patient positioning, verifying instrument counts, and ensuring sterility of instruments and supplies. A CST or equivalent credential is required, with LPN acceptable if CST is not held.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent - Required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program (CST) - Required.
• NYS LPN also acceptable, if not CST.

Surgical Technician are allied health professionals, who are an integral part of the team of practitioners providing surgical care to patients. Surgical technician work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and a surgeon to facilitate surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the patient safety is maintained.
