Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Surgical Technician (Surg Tech, CST) to support operating room activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will set up and maintain the surgical field and assist the surgeon during operative procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technology program.
• Certificate of surgical technology NBSTSA/NCCT or graduate of a practical nursing program.
• BLS healthcare provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting goals and initiatives for the surgery department, including room turnover and first-case on-time starts.
• Assist in training/orientation of associates as directed by Clinical Educator.
• Maintain a safe environment for the patient and sterile Technique.
• Support operative procedures as directed by the RN and surgeon.
