Job summary

MemorialCare Health System in Laguna Hills, CA is seeking a Surgical Technician II for full-time evening 12-hour shifts. The role supports the surgical team under RN/MD direction, maintaining aseptic technique and instrument readiness.

A sign-on bonus is available for external hires meeting requirements. Responsibilities include assisting in procedures, documenting per policy, and supporting patient flow and safety across the department.

Surgical Technician II

Location: Laguna Hills, CA Saddleback Memorial Medical Center

Status: Full Time

Shift: Evenings 12 hour shifts

Pay Range: $33.79/hr. - $49.00/hr.

Bonus: $3,000.00 Sign on bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.

Position Summary:

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities. The Surgical Technician II is responsible for providing surgical assistance in a safe, appropriate and effective manner under the direction of a Registered Nurse/MD, in compliance with the Surgical Technician II standards of practice. It is not within the scope of practice of the Surgical Technician II to perform beyond their stated scope of practice (e.g. assessment, evaluation of patient data, administration of medications), even when requested by a Surgeon.). Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: provision of availability/maintenance of instruments, adherence to aseptic technique, advanced knowledge of surgical procedures, knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and support to patient flow within department. Provides support and communicates directly with surgical team and supervisory staff. This position uses effective oral communication and participates in aspects of documentation. In addition, this position collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
