Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in College Station, TX is seeking a Surgical Tech to help prepare the operating room and surgical team for a variety of procedures. You will set up instruments and assist the team to ensure a sterile environment and patient safety.

Daily duties include passing instruments, maintaining asepsis, and collaborating with the OR team to support rapid, precise patient care during complex surgeries.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of surgical experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist or equivalent certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgical team in scrubbing according to prescribed standards and licensure.
• Maintains sterile field. Reports immediately any breaks in aseptic technique.
• Passes instruments, suture products, medication, and sponge materials to surgeon.
• Assists with retracting of tissue and organs, and suctioning by holding the retracting instrument which has been placed by the surgeon.
• Electrosurgical current may be applied as directed by the surgeon, to an established instrument placed by the surgeon.
• Performs surgical counts with the RN according to policy and procedure.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

Pay Range

$24.88 - $37.00 /hour
