Job summary

US Oral Surgery Management (USOSM) in Paso Robles, CA is seeking a Full-Time Surgical Technician to support the clinical team at both locations. The role encompasses surgical assistant duties during procedures, anesthesia assistance, and sterilization tasks.

You will perform duties before, during, and after surgeries, take x-rays, document patient histories, and coordinate with front office and treatment teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and medical terminology.
  • Ability to operate a computer and perform basic word processing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the doctor during surgeries (suctioning, cutting sutures, irrigating) and monitor vitals.
  • Between surgeries, break down setup and prepare for next procedure; educate patients on post-op care.
  • PM duties include taking x-rays, charting findings, reviewing medical history, coordinating treatment plans.

CCOMS FULL-TIME SURGICAL TECHNICIANHOURS/LOCATIONSMonday – Friday, approximately 8:00am – 5:00pm with a 60 minute lunch period. Clinical team members work at both locations. Our schedule is completed 3-4 weeks in advance and locations are directed at that time.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires knowledge of modern office practices, principles of modern record keeping, setup and maintaining filing systems and of legal phrases and terminology. Requires skill in operating a personal computer, word processing software and in oral communications.TASKSThe Oral Surgery Surgical Technician position is comprised of three main descriptions; Surgical Assistant, Anesthesia Assistant, & Sterilization Assistant. Duties include, but are not limited to:AM Duties:Surgical Assistant:During surgery: Assist the doctor (suctioning, cutting sutures, irrigating, etc.), aid in observing and maintaining patient vitals, and keep a clean and organized surgical field.Between surgeries: Break down prior surgery set up and prepare for the next surgery, educate patient and/or patient ride on post-operative instructions and discharge patients, help with tasks in other surgeries, and assist with sterilization of instruments.After surgeries: Break down, clean, and stock operatories.Anesthesia Assistant: Assist the doctor in monitoring patient vital signs, maintaining the patient’s airway and logging medications given.Sterilization Assistant: Cleaning, processing, and sterilizing instruments while helping with tasks in surgeries, discharging patients, and prepping rooms for the next surgery.PM Duties:Taking x-rays, charting appointment findings, reviewing medical history, taking basic vital signs, coordinating patient treatment plans with front office and treatment coordination teamsCompletion of huddles, stocking, cleaning, post-op calls, closing duties, etc.ABOUT US ORAL SURGERY MANAGEMENTBy joining US Oral Surgery Management (USOSM), you become part of a dynamic and forward-thinking organization made up of best-in-class Oral and Maxillofacial practices.
