Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team by preparing and maintaining the sterile field, passing instruments, and ensuring equipment is ready for procedures. You will assist with patient care under supervision and scrub across multiple service lines including robotics, vascular, general, and neuro/spine.

Day shifts, part-time, with on-call requirements and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program from an accredited school.
• 2–3 years of experience in a main OR.
• Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) required.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field, pass instruments, and ensure surgical equipment is available and functioning properly.
• Assist with routine patient care activities under supervision of nurses and physicians.
• Scrub service lines include robotics, vascular, endovascular, general, neuro/spine, orthopedics and complex plastic cases.
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team.
